Normally, yes, but not with Think Hire. With some manufacturers, the larger the BESS the longer it takes to charge, but all Think Hire BESS units, including the SiteGrid X500, are engineered to charge within just 2 hours, saving significant time on site.

Yes. The SiteGrid X500 is designed to integrate renewable energy in a hybrid power system. This includes solar power, wind energy and hydro-electric energy. Together with traditional diesel generators and grid connections this creates a clean, cost-effective power supply.

No. In fact, quite the opposite. Because a large BESS removes the need for large, noisy diesel generators, it can actually cut noise on site significantly. Furthermore, a BESS results in reduced runtime of these smaller generators, which means even less noise, with silent running available through site configuration.

Yes. The huge energy storage capacity of the SiteGrid X500 means you can save all the renewable energy you generate from solar panels and wind turbines as well as hydro turbines so none of it goes to waste. This energy can be used later when there is no daylight or wind.

In most BESS set-ups, a back-up generator is still needed to ensure continuity of supply. However, this does not have to be diesel powered, and could use HVO, LPG or glycerine fuel. BESS can also be charged using energy from the grid and renewables if this is available.
